[How-To Guide] Move Navigation Menu Above Header In Genesis Theme Framework

Already, I have shared few tutorials on Genesis Theme Framework and continuing in same series, in this post I’m sharing a new tutorial which allows you to place Navigation Menu above header. Like other tutorials, this is also a step-by-step guide tutorial. themedy-thesis-skins-and-genesis-child-themesStep1: First log-in into wp-admin panel, scroll down and click on “Editor” as shown below:

Step2: When you click on “Editor”, a new window open as shown below. Now click on “functions.php”.

Step3: When you click on “functions.php”, a new window open as shown below.

Step4: Now copy this code:

// Reposition the Primary Navigation
remove_action(‘genesis_after_header’, ‘genesis_do_nav’);
add_action(‘genesis_before_header’, ‘genesis_do_nav’);

Step5: After copying above code, paste this code in “functions.php” file and click on “Update file” button as shown below:

Step6: Congratulations, you have successfully moved the Navigation Menu above header.

[How-To Guide] Upgrade PayPal Account From Personal To Premier/Business Account

At WebGuide4U I try my level best to cover as much as tutorials as I can. In this post, I’m sharing how to upgrade PayPal account from Personal to “Premier” or “Business”. For those who do not know – PayPal offers you to transfer or receive payments online (I’m not discussing here anything regarding PayPal).

Step1: First log-in into PayPal account

Step2: Now click on “Profile” as shown below:

Step3: When you click on “Profile” button, it opens a new window as shown below and now you have to click on “My Account Settings”.

Step4: As soon as you click on “My Account Settings” (in step 3), a new window open (as shown below). Now, you have to simply click on “Upgrade to a Premier Account”.

Step5: When you click on “Upgrade to a Premier Account”, a new window open (as shown below). Now, you have to simply click on “Upgrade Now” button.

Step6: As soon as you click on “Upgrade Now” button, it open a new window as shown below. Now you have to select either “Premier account” or “Business account”. After selecting account type, click on “Continue” button as shown below.

Step7: When you click on “Continue” button (in step 6), a new window opens which clearly shows the confirmation that your account has been upgraded to “Premier” or “Business”.

Step8: Congratulations, you have successfully upgraded your PayPal account to Premier or Business.

[How To Guide] Install WordPress On Desktop PC Using WampServer

At WebGuide4U, I have talked a lot about self hosted WordPress and thought that many of you like me (my earlier days) are unfamiliar with WordPress. To make you familiar with WordPress I have come up with this tutorial so that you can test WordPress locally on your PC. So, here is a quick guide which guides you completely on Installing WordPress Locally on your PC.

Step1: First follow this link and download WampServer on your PC.

Step2: As soon as download finishes, click on .exe file and run installation of Wamp Server as shown below (it is a simple software installation, like you install other softwares on your PC – If you have any query let me know via contact form).

Step3: Download WordPress from official site and unzip it. After unzipping the WordPress download, copy WordPress folder and paste the WordPress folder in C:\wamp\www

Step4: If everything works fine (unless you have any problem in installing wamp server), you see a icon in your taskbar as shown below:

Step4: Now open this URL in your browser http://localhost

Step5: Click on “phpmyadmin” (as shown below)

Step6: As soon as you click on “phpmyadmin”, a new window open and now you have to create a new database for WordPress Installation (fill the details as mentioned below):

Step7: After creating database (in step6), open http://lcalhost/wordpress and click on create a configuration file as shown below.

Step8: As soon as you click on “Create a Configuration File”, you see a new window as shown below and click on “Let’s go!”.

Step9: Now fill all the details and click on “Submit” button as shown below:

Step10: As soon as you click on “Submit” button, you see a new window as shown below. Click on “Run the Install” button.

Step11: When you click on “Run the Install” button a new window open. Fill-up all the details as mentioned below and click on “Install WordPress” button.

Step12: When you click on “Install WordPress” (in above step), you see a new window as shown below. Now click on “Log In” button to log-in into wp-admin panel.

Step5: As soon as you click on “Next” (in step4), a new window appear and you have to check out both boxes as shown below. After checking out, click on “Next” button.

Step6: As soon as you click on “Next”,  a new window open as shown below and you have to click on “Finish” button as shown below to move the domain name from one account to other account.
