[How-TO Guide] Checking MySQL Installation Works On PC Or Not?

Already in earlier articles I have provided you a step-by-step guide on installing and configuring MySQL offline on your PC. Now in this article I provide you a step-by-step guide on checking MySQL Installation whether it works correctly on your PC or not. The easiest way to check out MySQL Installation and confirm that it’s working properly is to use the MySQL Command Line Client.

Step1: Click on “Start Menu” and select “All Programs”.

Step2: Now click on “MySQL” and select “MySQL Server 5.1”


Step2: Now enter the MySQL password


Step3: The MySQL client displays the mysql> prompt on successful login.


Step4: Now run simple SQL command for example: Run “show databases;” and hit enter key on your keyboard. This simple command instructs MySQL to display the names of installed databases and they are 3.


Congratulations, you have successfully install MySQL and it is working correctly on your PC.
