[WordPress News] WordPress 3.0.5 Released: Important Security Update

Already, in earlier article I talk about that WordPress team release WordPress 3.1 Release Candidate 4 and now WordPress fixes the important security updates by releasing WordPress 3.0.5.

According to official release,

WordPress 3.0.5 is now available for as a new update and it is a security hardening update to all earlier versions of WordPress.

This security release required for untrusted user accounts, especially for multi-author blogs. All WordPress users requested to update to this newer versions as soon as possible. In this security release, WordPress fixes:

Two moderate security issues – that could have allowed a Contributor- or Author-level user to gain further access to the site.

One information disclosure issue – was addressed that could have allowed an Author-level user to view contents of posts they should not be able to see, such as draft or private posts.

Two security enhancements

  1. Improved the security of any plugins which were not properly leveraging our security API.
  2. It offers additional defense in-depth against a vulnerability that was fixed in previous release.

So, itโ€™s a request to update to latest version as soon as possible. If you are unable to update to latest version you can get in touch by using Free WordPress Installation Service

Yes Aniket, you are right we must have to update when any update will be available. If a single loop hole is left then your blog gets hacked.
