[How-To Guide] Repair And Optimize WordPress Database

Already many of them using WordPress plugins to optimize database but in this article I offer you a step-by-step guide to optimize database without using a WordPress plugin because already WordPress built-in Repair and Optimize functionality is available at the admin back-end.

Step1: Login to your wp-admin section by visiting http://www.educationguide4u.com/wp-login.php

Step2: Now simply type http://www.educationguide4u.com/wp-admin/maint/repair.php in a new tab of your browser. After typing this URL and hitting enter button, it ask you to add a piece of code to WordPress wp-config.php file as shown below:

Step3: Add this code to WordPress wp-config.php file

define(‘WP_ALLOW_REPAIR’,true);

Step4: After adding this code just simply reload/refresh page and it will look like this:

Step5: Now you can see a page with two options (screen-shot of step4) first one is “Repair Database” and second one is “Repair and Optimize Database”. Click on any of the option.

Step5.1: If you click on “Repair Database” option, WordPress will automatically look for some common database problems and repair them automatically by executing SQL queries in WordPress database tables.

Step5.2: If you click on “Repair and Optimize Database” option, WordPress also attempt to optimize the database. this improves the performance in some situations.

Caution:

Repairing and Optimizing database option can take long time and database can be locked while optimizing.

Step4: Now run simple SQL command for example: Run “show databases;” and hit enter key on your keyboard. This simple command instructs MySQL to display the names of installed databases and they are 3.

Step1: Click on “Next” button to get started.

Step2: After clicking on “Next” button, you’ve to select “Detailed configuration” and click on “Next” button.

Step3: Now select “Developer Machine” and click on “Next” button

Step4: After clicking on “Next” button you’ve to choose Database, select “Multifunctional Database” as u don’t know what you’re doing and click on “Next” button.

Step5: Now don’t mess up the things and simply click on “Next” Button

Step6: Now select “Decision Support” and click on “Next” Button

Step7: Now select “Enable Strict Mode” for networking options and click on “Next” button.

Step8: Click on “Include Bin Directory In Windows Path” option and “Next” button to go ahead.

Step9: Now set the “Password” and click on “Next” button.

Step10: Now click on “Execute” button to execute the things.

Step11: Hit down the “Finish” button. Congratulations, you have successfully configured MySQL Offline on your PC.
