Hostgator offer shared, reseller and vps hosting. If you buy any hosting plan from Hostgator, then you have to use existing domain name or you have to buy a new domain name with hosting plan. In earlier posts, I offered you how-to guide on Installing WordPress on Hostgator and how-to guide on adding add-on domain in Hostgator.
After buying hosting plan you can easily change primary domain (i.e., the domain associated while buying web hosting account). This post focus on changing Primary Domain Name on Hostgator.
Step1: Log-in into Hostgator Billing Panel.
Step2: On left-hand side click on “Hosting Packages –> View Hosting Packages” (as shown below):
Step3: When you click on “View Hosting Packages”, you see a new window. On new window click on “Change My Domain” (as shown below):
Step4: When you click on “Change My Domain” again a new window open, where you have to enter new domain name in the box (as shown below) and click on “Update Domain” button to change the domain name.
Step5: Congratulations, you have successfully change the Primary Domain Name.
If you face any difficulty, do let me know in comment section??
