[How-To Guide] Enable Search Engine In WordPress

Now continuing in same series of posts, I’m offering you a how-to guide on enabling search engines in WordPress blog. Many bloggers and webmasters are unaware of it and forget to enable search engine in WordPress blog which result in traffic loss and indexing problem. So in this post I offer you a step-by-step guide on enabling search engine in WordPress powered blog.

Step1: Log-in into wp-admin panel by typing URL

http://www.domainname.com/wp-admin (replace domainanme with your domain)

Step2: Now on top of your blog you see that “Search Engines Blocked”.

Step3: In wp-admin panel go to “Settings” and click on “Privacy” as shown below:

Step4: When you click on “Privacy” it open a new window as shown below:

Step5: Now click on “I would like my site to be visible to everyone, including search engines” and after it, click on “Save Changes” button to save the changes.

Step6: Congratulations, you have successfully enable search engine on your site.

[WordPress News] WordPress 3.0.4 Released: Important Security Update

Already WordPress 3.0.3 released with security updates and now WordPress 3.0.4 also released as one of the most important security update.

Earlier this week on Christmas WordPress 3.1 RC1 released and now according a official release:

Version 3.0.4 of WordPress, available immediately through the update page in your dashboard or for download here, is a very important update to apply to your site as soon as possible because it fixes a core security bug in our HTML sanitation library, called KSES. I would rate this release as “critical.”

I realize an update during the holidays is no fun, but this one is worth putting down the eggnog for. In the spirit of the holidays, consider helping your friends as well.

So, now its your time to take his advice and upgrade your WordPress blog to recent version.

Already I offered you a how-to guide on installing new themes in WordPress but didn’t tell you how-to install Thesis theme in WordPress yet. So, in this post I’m offering you a how-to guide on installing Thesis Theme.

Step1: Log-in into wp-admin panel by typing URL:

http://www.domainame.com/wp-admin (replace domainname with your domain)

Step2: In wp-admin panel click on “Appearance” (as numbered by 1) and after it click on “Themes” (as numbered by 2):

Step4: When you click on “Install Themes” (in step3), it will open a new window (as shown below) and click on “upload” button.

Step5: Clicking on “Upload” button open a new window (as shown below). Now browse the theme in your PC (where you have downloaded it). If you haven’t downloaded it yet, download it from here and click on “Install Now” button to install theme.

Step6: Clicking on “Install Now” button open a new window (as shown below) and now click on “Activate” to install the theme in wordpress blog.

Step7: Congratulations, you have successfully installed Thesis Theme.

[WordPress News] Download WordPress 3.1 Release Candidate

WordPress team released WordPress 3.1 RC1 (Release Candidate 1) as a Christmas present and made it available for download to all users and developers. This means that, WordPress 3.1 will be coming pretty soon.

According to official release:

“An RC comes after the beta period and before final release. That means we think we’re done. We currently have no known issues or bugs to squash. But with tens of millions of users, a variety of configurations, and thousands of plugins, it’s possible we’ve missed something. So if you haven’t tested WordPress 3.1 yet, now is the time! Please though, not on your live site unless you’re extra adventurous.”

Well every WordPress user excited to see WordPress 3.1 because it offer a lot of features like easy way to link earlier posts in write panel, new “Admin Bar”, access to new post templates and post styles, Ajax based admin screens.
