Today WordPress.org announced that in WordPress version 3.2 (which will be coming in 2011) you will require PHP 5.2 and MySQL 5.0.15 as already WordPress 3.1 hasn’t come till yet. WordPress 3.0 will be using PHP 4 and runs on MySQL 4 and WordPress 3.1 will be the last version using this because from this version they are ending their support from it.

According to the stats, only 11 % of WordPress installs are running on PHP version below 5.2 and less than 6% of WordPress users running MySQL 4.
